I started my sewing adventure at the age of 12 with a simple apron and the guidance of my Aunt Mary. (I’m sure it was a painful process for her!)

It birthed a lifelong passion for textiles and design. In 1988, I mentored with Phyllis Herndl, a former designer with Jantzen Canada. The next 3 years I expanded my knowledge and experience through contract piecework for various designers on the Lower Mainland. It allowed for a broad exploration of fabrics, design elements, construction and technical specifications. It was invaluable experience and gave me the confidence to share my own ideas.

After 25 years of operating a successful boutique line of children and women’s linen wear, it was a natural transition to launch Yarrow Creek™ Designs.  My focus was to create tested, simple, functional and timeless patterns for beginner to advanced sewers incorporating techniques I have learned over the last 30 plus years.

I hope you find a project that inspires whether you are trying your first project or are a seasoned veteran!
